Microsporidia infection biology and host response
We study obligate intracellular parasites called Microsporidia. They are the major cause of several diseases
leading to devastation in agriculture and aquaculture industries. In addition to economically important animals, microsporidia can infect immunocompromised individuals, resulting in severe diarrhea and death.
In our lab, we aim to understand the invasion mechanism of these parasites as well as
how host cells respond to microsporidia infections in shrimp.

and is affiliated with the Center of Excellence for Molecular Biology and Genomics of Shrimp (CEMS)
